One of THOSE days!

I debated on whether or not I should post this...it definitely wasn't one of our greatest moments in this household.  BUT the way it ended, I couldn't help but laugh, considering the day I was having.
So... the other day the kids completely trashed our "preschool" room.  Puzzle pieces were strewn about, along with about a million foam letters, crayons, cut up paper, projects, etc...  Jadan wanted to play a game on the computer, so I asked him to help me clean up that room, and Cooper and Shae would clean up the boys' bedroom, where they were playing.  He agreed, and we started to pick things up.  Of course, he became distracted, asking me how to spell things as he picked up a handful of letters, then just laying on the ground singing, etc... So, after I had done my part, I left the rest of the letters and puzzle pieces for him to pick up.  To make a long story short, this didn't sit well with him, because I "didn't help him."  He ended up in time out on his bed, screaming at the top of his lungs "STUPID MOM!" over and over again.  In his defense, this seriously is NOT at all typical for Jadan.  In the end, after the time out and yelling and tears, when he had calmed down, he said "I need a kiss and hug, Mom." So, after a forgiving embrace, Jadan looks at me and says, in the most serious, heartfelt tone, "Mom, I'm sorry you're stupid." Thanks, dude.  It helped me find a tiny bit of humor in this challenge...Up to that point, I was starting to let the comments get to me (sometimes I feel like I do my best and still am unappreciated), but this reminded me that kids are kids...any other moms been there (I hope)?!

Don't worry I have compliments like that all the time from Cameron! Sometimes it makes me wonder if I can do anything right! You are a wonderful mom, they just don't know how to appreciate you! We love you!

Half-pint gives me a run for my money too! I know your children adore you! It is difficult to hear all the complaints, etc, but you do an awesome job!

That was pretty funny. I am glad you could find the humor in it. You will have to write him on his mission, and remind him of that story. Feeling unappreciated is a staple of motherhood, I think. You are a great Mom.
