Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

I just wanted to spread the word about this amazing organization...I first heard about Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep upon attending a seminar about photography and lighting. It was the last segment of this seminar and was an experience I will not soon forget. The video they showed at this seminar told the story of a photographer who was called very late to do a special assignment. A couple had just given birth to a son, who was either stillborn or died shortly after birth, and wanted to have some portraits to remember their sweet angel. The photographer, Sandy Puc, was obviously very touched by this experience and thereafter co-founded this organization. There I was, at this seminar, sitting between two men, two complete stangers, with tears welling in my eyes. I felt a sorrow that I cannot explain, as my heart just ached for these parents that endure the loss of a baby. But at the same time, I felt an overwhelming sense of purpose...I very distinctly felt a voice in my heart whispering, this is why you were given this talent and passion. I was thrilled when, after the video, they explained how NILMDTS has grown in the past 3 years since its beginning, but that they were still in need of photographers. I checked out the website as soon as I returned home and shortly after applied for membership as a photographer, praying that my work would be good enough to be able to be approved to photograph with this organization with such a special mission. I found out in April that I was approved and have recently completed my registration, etc... Next, I will hopefully have the opportunity to shadow another photographer on a session, as well as attend some training, etc... I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share this wonderful gift Heavenly Father has given me, and hopefully help to ease a pain I cannot begin to imagine in the lives of these families. Please check out their website (click on the NILMDTS logo on the bottom of this page) and pass the information along to anyone who may be interested in volunteering for this organization. Thanks for allowing me to pour my heart out for a minute; I just feel so moved by this opportunity and so blessed in countless ways and immeasurably...

It is really interesting that you mentioned this opportunity. Recently on the news, there was a special about this exact same thing here in Utah. I don't know if it is the same organization or not, but it was very interesting and heartfelt. Both Mauri and I thought about you when we were watching it. I hope everything goes great with this new endeavor of yours! We love you guys!
